Welcome to Inkwright Engine ("the Service"), an AI-powered interactive fiction platform operated by ScrollWright Studios ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, purchasing tokens, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Inkwright Engine. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf, particularly regarding any token purchases.
You may create an account using an email address and password, or play as a guest with limited functionality. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
Inkwright Engine generates interactive narrative content using artificial intelligence (including Anthropic's Claude models) in response to player choices. Content is generated dynamically and will vary between sessions and users. We do not guarantee the accuracy, appropriateness, or consistency of AI-generated narrative content, though we take reasonable steps to maintain quality and tone appropriate to each adventure.
Inkwright Engine operates on a token-based system. Tokens are consumed as you play and may be purchased in packs through our payment processor, Stripe.
Token purchases are generally final and non-refundable, as tokens are a digital good consumed at the time of use. If you believe you were charged in error or experienced a technical failure that prevented you from receiving purchased tokens, contact us at the email below within 14 days of purchase and we will review the matter in good faith.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, and without refund of unused tokens in cases of confirmed abuse.
Choices, custom text actions, and any other input you provide may be processed by third-party AI services (including Anthropic) to generate your narrative experience. Do not submit personal, sensitive, or confidential information as part of gameplay. We are not responsible for any consequences arising from information you choose to submit.
The Inkwright Engine platform, including its design, code, world settings, and branding, is the property of ScrollWright Studios. AI-generated narrative text produced during your individual gameplay session is provided for your personal entertainment use; you may share screenshots or excerpts for non-commercial purposes (such as social media), but may not republish, sell, or claim authorship of the underlying Service or its world designs.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that AI-generated content will be free from inconsistency, factual error, or content some users may find objectionable. Adventure narratives may include fictional violence, peril, or morally complex situations appropriate to each world's stated genre and tone.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrollWright Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of access to purchased tokens due to technical failure outside our reasonable control, or dissatisfaction with AI-generated content. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms periodically; continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted by updating the "Last updated" date above.
You may stop using the Service and request account deletion at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately; unused tokens are not refunded in cases of termination for cause.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
